ABout

This Pure Prep Class + Demo Reel Scene Production is for the artist who wants to explore, play, and collaborate with fellow actors while expanding their craft toolkit and adding a professionally produced scene to your demo reel directed by Erica Arvold.


DAY 1 - Arvold Warner Studio PURE PREP Class & LA REELS Shoot prep | 1.17.20

Pure Prep is a 90 minute workout providing actors guidance through Arvold Warner Studio’s 10-step preparation checklist. This workout is a pure practice of the concepts and craft curriculum of AWS’s Total Prep FUSION and Prep 8. Grounded in the detailed study of a scene, actors explore efficient, effective techniques for creating action-based characters. Led by master teacher Erica Arvold.

Shoot Prep is the preparation insight given by LA REELS for over 3000 original scenes produced for actors and their shoots. Learn the logistical preparation needed before the shoot. We’ll touch on marks, coverage, continuity, blocking, wardrobe, props and more. We’ll do a run down of how the shoot day will work for each pair of actors and what to expect. We’ll also do a follow up Q&A with Brett Newton to make sure everyone is on the same page and anything left un-answered is explained. Led by filmmaker Brett Newton

Day 2 - The Shoot | 1.19.20

24-48hrs before the shoot Call Sheets are sent out | CONFIRMATIONS are required.

  • Know your dialogue

  • Come hair & makeup ready

  • Wardrobe Options

  • Props if applicable

  • Apply your Pure Prep steps

  • Setup / Dialogue Rehearsal / Blocking Rehearsal

    *Shoot Times will range throughout the day from 1-2 hours/scene. Be available for the entire day.


Pre-Production, Original Writing & Preparation

  • You will be responsible to come to Pure Prep completely off-book & memorized.

  • After you reserve your spot for the Pure Prep you will be asked to determine your GENRE and list 3 CHARACTERS you’d like to play.

  • You will be partnered up with other participating ACTORS and an ORIGINAL SCENE will be written for your group.

  • We expect professionalism, punctuality and commitment from everyone involved.


Post Production & Delivery

  • High Definition Picture & Sound

  • Full Editing Services: Logging, Sound Sync, Editing

  • Mastering: Color Correction, Audio & Dialogue Cleaning, Music Arrangement

  • All Final Scenes are delivered digitally in High Definition (HD) & Standard Definition (SD) for your personal use and acting profile websites.

  • Final Products will be delivered 14-21 business days after the shoot.
